Music Video News

As you may have heard Cursing Stone is producing a music video for the upcoming single Stars.
Last Sunday the band got together and with the help of our good friends Rodger, Harris and Marshall, managed to cram a days worth of shooting into six hours.

The day was a complete success with loads of great footage. While the editing process has now begun, there are still a few location shots that need to be taken care of. Keeping in mind that the editing process is a mammoth undertaking on a fully green screened production, Corey who is directing the clip is hoping that the official release date will be just around the corner.

Here is a still from the day of Nat relaxing after her shoot.

Very Metal Xmas 2012

The guys had a great time smashing it out of the park out at the Lucky Australian Tavern on Saturday night. After not playing live for almost a year the band debuted a ton of new material with only a couple of songs in the set that anyone had heard before.

All in all it was a great wrap up for the year and it was great to see some other great bands playing on the night.

Nat guesting on major release.

Natalie has recently completed a guest vocal session on the upcoming Dragonsclaw album 'Judgement Day'. This is exciting news as she will be credited along side many amazing talents such as David Reece (Accept / Bangalore Choir) and Jack Starr (Virgin Steele) and of course Giles Lavery, Dragonsclaw's vocalist.

The album is currently in mixing stages and will receive a global release shortly.

Dragonsclaw's debut album "Prophecy' generated huge buzz with the inclusion of guests Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden / Wolfsbane) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge of Forever / Eden's Curse), so Cursing Stone is excited to see what happens with this new release.

Video clip news

The Cursing Stone are in the planning stages of putting together a music video for the new song 'Falling'. There is little to tell at the moment except that the narrative has been hashed out and there will be a space / military theme. Next stage treatment then story board time.

Nat Hits the Mic!

The time has come for the next step in the production of TCS' sophmore offering. Nat has finally rocked the mic!

'Falling' the track in question is an interesting choice for the band due to it's slow burner almost smokey vibe. The guys feel it sums up the direction of the new album nicely but also lends itself beautifully to a future music video due to it's soundtrack style.

Another guitar session

Tomorrow will see Corey back in the studio hopefully putting the finishing touches on all of the electric guitar parts. As mentioned previously this will mean the next phase of the process.
"Hopefully we will knock the guitars over early, and we can make a start on some other guitar related stuff" said Corey.

Photos of the session will be up tomorrow night.

Acoustic Resonance - The next chapter

An acoustic guitar being re-strung. An innocuous event under most circumstances. However in this case it heralds another stage in the production of The Cursing Stone's sophomore offering.

One more good session and all of the electric guitar parts will be complete. Next up is the inimitable clean & acoustic bits to add some lush textures.

After that comes all of the orchestral and piano arrangements, adding beautiful dynamics and harmony.
All of this before any of the vocals are even tracked.

With the end of year deadline closing fast, the band needs to ramp up their efforts to secure a release before Christmas. Good thing they work well under pressure.

Guitar parts ahoy!

Corey has been locked away in TCS Studios frantically laying down the guitar parts for the album. It is a long process with many new parts being composed on the fly to flesh out the songs. He had this to say:

"It's a process, many things need to be considered when writing the guitar parts. We went in to the recording process with basic arrangements, and we've been slowly adding complexity during ther recording process. Some of the decisisions you have to make when you come up with a cool new part is, does it conflict with the vocal melody, is there something better I can do with orchestral parts or synths, etc. You end up spending all this time writing, only to dump it in favour of something better. It's a very involved process."

Next in line is all of the clean / acoustic guitar parts. Then filling out the tracks with synths and orchestral / piano bits. Then it's back to Puzzle Factory to record all of the vocal parts.

There is still no projected date for completion, however having a master by the end of December is still on the cards.

Outsourced 2 - This time it's personal

Further to our recent reveal regarding Corey assisting with a top secret track featuring Blaze Bayley, we can now reveal a second track that Corey worked on will have another renowned guest vocalist performing on it.

Alessandro Del Vecchio from Italy's 'Edge of Forever' who has worked with such names as Glenn Hughes, Jeff Scott Soto, Dreamtheater's James LaBrie among MANY others, will  be appearing on a few of DRAGONSCLAW's tracks. One of which has lyrics worked on by Corey.
